Abstract
A normal newborn is a baby born in a cephalic presentation through the vagina without the use of instruments, at exactly 37 to 42 weeks of gestation, with a birth weight of 2,500 - 4,000 grams, with an Apgar score > 7 and no congenital defects. Newborn care is not only provided to the mother, but is also very necessary for the newborn (BBL). The purpose of this evidence-based study is to evaluate the effectiveness of video-based education in newborn care. This study applies continuous midwifery care from the third trimester of pregnancy to family planning services, with a focus on the application of Evidence-Based Practice Midwifery (EBM) in the form of providing video-based education on newborn care. This care was carried out at PMB Ernita from March to June 2025. The success indicator was measured using a newborn assessment questionnaire intervention conducted by the mother on the 5th and 6th postpartum days. The results of continuous midwifery care for Mrs. N (28 years old, P1A0H1) showed that the entire care process went well without complications. Before the intervention demonstration by the midwife and the provision of education using video media, the mother still felt afraid and did not know what to do. After the intervention, the mother's level of knowledge increased and on the 5th and 6th days the mother was able to care for the newborn without assistance. Health workers are advised to apply this technique as an alternative care management for mothers in labor.
