Factors Affecting Motivation Third Grade Student To Continue Ners Education In Stikes Payung Negeri Pekanbaru

ABSTRACT The role of nurse rather than as a doctor's helper requires nursing education to proceed to the ners education. There are several factors that influence the motivation of nursing undergraduate students to continue to ners education such as attitude, family support and support college friends. The purpose of the study to know the factors that influence the motivation of third grade students to continue ners education in STIKes Payung Negeri Pekanbaru. Type of this research is quantitative with correlational design using cross sectional. The sample in this research is 114 students in STIKes Payung Negeri Pekanbaru. The sampling technique used is total random sampling. The study was conducted on July 2018 at STIKes Payung Negeri Pekanbaru. The tool used to measure is the questionnaire. The analysis used univariate and bivariate analysis using chi square statistic test. The result of this research shows that there are relationship between attitude (p = 0,002), family support (p = 0,005) and support of friend (p = 0,001) with motivation of third grade student to continue ners education at STIKes Payung Negeri Pekanbaru. Based on the results of this study suggested for the campus to provide positive motivations and provide encouragement and guidance for students in order to improve motivation in continuing ners education at STIKes Payung Negeri Pekanbaru. This study recommends further research to further develop research results with different variables and with different research designs.
