Factors Related To The Incidence Of Work Accidents In Welding Workshop Workers In Pekanbaru In 2021

Occupational health and safety is one aspect of labor protection which aims to enable workers to carry out their work comfortably, healthily and safely, so as to achieve an optimal increase in work productivity. Work accidents can occur due to several factors, unsafe action, unsafe conditions, and knowledge. Welding workshops have a high level of work risk and in carrying out their work, welding workshop workers are required not to take actions that can endanger the work. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors related to the incidence of work accidents in welding workshop workers in Pekanbaru in 2021. This research is a type of quantitative research that uses a cross sectional research design. The number of samples is 30 people consisting of 7 welding workshops. The data analysis used was univariate and bivariate analysis using the Chi-Square method. The results showed that the factors related to work accidents were knowledge (P value=0.007%), unsafe action (0.012%), unsafe condition (0.092%). From the results that have been found by researchers, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between unsafe action and knowledge of work accidents at a welding workshop in Pekanbaru.
