HUBUNGAN IMPOSTOR SYNDROME DENGAN KECEMASAN AKADEMIK PADA MAHASISWA TINGKAT 1 S1 KEPERAWATAN INSTITUT KESEHATAN PAYUNG NEGERI PEKANBARU

Abstract
Mahasiswa tingkat I berada pada masa transisi dan adaptasi terhadap lingkungan perkuliahan dengan tuntutan akademik yang lebih kompleks, sehingga rentan mengalami tekanan psikologis seperti impostor syndrome dan kecemasan akademik. Berdasarkan studi pendahuluan yang dilakukan pada mahasiswa tingkat I S1 Keperawatan Institut Kesehatan Payung Negeri Pekanbaru, dari 6 responden ditemukan bahwa 3 mahasiswa (50%) menunjukkan kecenderungan impostor syndrome dan 4 mahasiswa (66,7%) mengalami kecemasan akademik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara impostor syndrome dengan kecemasan akademik pada mahasiswa tingkat I S1 Keperawatan Institut Kesehatan Payung Negeri Pekanbaru. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain kuantitatif analitik korelasional dengan pendekatan cross-sectional yang dilaksanakan pada tanggal 1–7 Juni 2026 di Institut Kesehatan Payung Negeri Pekanbaru. Populasi penelitian berjumlah 269 mahasiswa dengan sampel sebanyak 161 responden yang dipilih menggunakan teknik proportionate stratified random sampling. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan Clance Impostor Phenomenon Scale (CIPS) dan Academic Anxiety Scale (AAS). Analisis data menggunakan uji Chi-Square. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan mayoritas responden mengalami impostor syndrome kategori sedang sebanyak 125 responden (77,6%) dan kecemasan akademik kategori sedang sebanyak 93 responden (57,8%). Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara impostor syndrome dengan kecemasan akademik p-value <0,001 dimana p <0,05. Dengan demikian, institusi pendidikan diharapkan dapat meningkatkan dukungan psikologis bagi mahasiswa melalui penyediaan layanan konseling, pendampingan akademik, serta program pengembangan kepercayaan diri untuk membantu mahasiswa menghadapi tekanan akademik.
First-year students are in a period of transition and adaptation to the college environment with more complex academic demands, making them vulnerable to psychological pressures such as impostor syndrome and academic anxiety. Based on a preliminary study conducted among first-year undergraduate nursing students at the Institut Kesehatan Payung Negeri Pekanbaru, 3 out of 6 respondents (50%) showed tendencies of impostor syndrome, and 4 respondents (66.7%) experienced academic anxiety. This study aimed to determine the relationship between impostor syndrome and academic anxiety among first-year undergraduate nursing students at the Institut Kesehatan Payung Negeri Pekanbaru. This study employed a quantitative analytic correlational design with a cross-sectional approach, conducted from June 1–7, 2026, at the Institut Kesehatan Payung Negeri Pekanbaru. The study population consisted of 269 students, with a sample of 161 respondents selected using the proportionate stratified random sampling technique. The research instruments used were the Clance Impostor Phenomenon Scale (CIPS) and the Academic Anxiety Scale (AAS). Data were analyzed using the Chi-Square test. The results showed that the majority of respondents experienced moderate levels of impostor syndrome, with 125 respondents (77.6%), and moderate academic anxiety, with 93 respondents (57.8%). There was a significant relationship between impostor syndrome and academic anxiety p-value <0.001 where p <0.05. Therefore, educational institutions are expected to enhance psychological support for students through the provision of counseling services, academic mentoring, and self-confidence development programs to help students cope with academic pressure.
