Hubungan Peran Ayah Dengan Kecerdasan Emosional Pada Remaja di SMAN 7 Pekanbaru

Di era modern ini, banyak ayah yang terlibat dalam pekerjaan dan memiliki kesibukan yang padat, sehingga interaksi dengan anak menjadi terbatas. Kondisi ini dapat mengakibatkan remaja merasa kurang diperhatikan atau diabaikan, hal ini berpotensi mempengaruhi perkembangan kecerdasan emosional anak. Perubahan emosional yang dialami remaja meliputi suasana hati yang cepat berubah, mudah tersinggung, dan mudah marah yang menyebabkan remaja berperilaku agresif dan impulsif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan dukungan peran ayah dengan kecerdasan emosional pada remaja di SMAN 7 Pekanbaru. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain korelasi dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 274 siswa yang ditentukan dengan teknik random sampling menggunakan spinner. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan kuesioner Inventory Father Involvement (IFI) dan Emotional Intelligence Questionarie. Analisis data menggunakan uji chi square. Hasil Penelitian ini didapatkan bahwa lebih dari separuh responden memiliki peran ayah yang tinggi sebanyak 160 (58,4%) dan lebih dari separuh responden juga memiliki kecerdasan emosional yang tinggi sebanyak 189 (69%). Hasil uji statistik chi square didapatkan nilai p value = 0,000 yang artinya terdapat hubungan antara peran ayah dengan kecerdasan emosional pada remaja. Perlu dilakukan penelitian lain untuk mengetahui faktor yang mempengaruhi kecerdasan emosional remaja selain peran ayah.

In this modern era, many fathers are involved in work and have busy schedules, so that interaction with children is limited. This condition can cause adolescents to feel less cared for or ignored, this has the potential to affect the development of children's emotional intelligence. Emotional changes experienced by adolescents include mood swings, irritability, and anger which cause adolescents to behave aggressively and impulsively. This study aims to determine the relationship between father's role support and emotional intelligence in adolescents at SMAN 7 Pekanbaru. This study is a quantitative study with a correlation design with a cross- sectional approach. The research sample was 274 students who were determined by random sampling technique using a spinner. The research instrument used the Father Involvement Inventory (IFI) questionnaire and the Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire. Data analysis used the chi square test. The results of this study showed that more than half of the respondents had a high father role as many as 160 (58.4%) and more than half of the respondents also had high emotional intelligence as many as 189 (69%). The results of the chi square statistical test obtained a p value = 0.000 which means that there is a relationship between the role of the father and emotional intelligence in adolescents. Further research is needed to determine the factors that influence adolescent emotional intelligence other than the role of the father.
