PUBLIC FACULTY HEALTH OF SCIENCE HEALTH STUDY AND PAYUNG NEGERI HEALTH INSTITUTE PEKANBARU RESEARCH STUDY, AUGUST 07, 2026 MELI YANTI PROGRAM INFORMATICS The Role of Larvae Monitoring Volunteers (Jumantik) in the Control of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever in the Working Area of Daik Primary Healthcare Center, Riau Islands, 2026 x + 85 Pages + 4 Tables + 2 Figures + 9 Appendices ABSTACK Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) remains one of the major public health problems in Indonesia. One of the strategies to prevent DHF is through empowering Larvae Monitoring Volunteers (Juru Pemantau Jentik/Jumantik), who are responsible for larvae inspection, health education, recording, and reporting activities. This study aimed to examine the role of Jumantik volunteers in controlling Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) in the working area of the Daik Primary Healthcare Center (UPTD Puskesmas Daik), Riau Islands, in 2026. This study employed a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach. The research informants consisted of three Jumantik volunteers as key informants, the person in charge of the DHF Control Program as the main informant, and the Head of Daik Primary Healthcare Center together with the Head of the Government Affairs Section of Daik Village as supporting informants. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and observations using interview guidelines and observation checklists. The data were analyzed through the processes of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings revealed that the number of Jumantik volunteers in the working area of Daik Primary Healthcare Center was still insufficient compared with the size of the service area and the number of households under surveillance. All volunteers had received training; however, regular supervision and capacity building were still needed to improve their competencies. Several challenges were identified, including incomplete recording and reporting practices, as well as internet network disruptions. The study concluded that the role of Jumantik volunteers in controlling Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) in the working area of Daik Primary Healthcare Center has been implemented well, but it has not yet reached an optimal level.
