The occupational safety and health program is the root of the implementation of
HSE to create a safe and healthy in workplace, thus the OHS program is very
important role in the company so that the knowledge and skills of workers are
more formed to always comply with regulations, especially the use of PPE in the
workplace. This study aims to determine the relationship between the
implementation of the OHS program on compliance with the use of PPE for
workers in the company. This type of research is a quantitative research using a
Cross Sectional approach. This research was conducted at the Pekanbaru City
Wastewater Piping Project South Area Package SC-1 using incidental sampling
technique, namely selecting respondents who were present. The measuring
instrument of this research is observation sheet and questionnaire, then it is
analyzed by univariate and bivariate using Chi Square method. The results is the
inspection of OHS (P value = 0.009), Safety Talk (P value = 0.003), and Safety
Induction (P value = 0.014). The conclution of this study is that there is a
significant relationship between the OHS program with compliance with PPE use.
It is recommended for workers to always play a role and participate in OHS
program activities that are always held by the company to minimize the risk of
work accidents.
