Abstract
High population growth rates pose a significant challenge for developing countries, including Indonesia. Despite a decline in the growth rate from 1.25% (2010–2020) to 1.13% (2020–2023), the population continues to increase annually. The government has implemented a Family Planning (FP) program to control fertility rates, but the use of natural contraceptive methods such as the Lactational Amenorrhea Method (LAM) remains low. LAM is a natural contraceptive method that relies on exclusive breastfeeding for six months after delivery, with an effectiveness rate of up to 98%. LAM has many advantages, such as no side effects, no equipment required, and supports the success of exclusive breastfeeding. The low use of LAM is caused by the lack of knowledge of postpartum mothers about this method. This study aims to provide continuous midwifery care to Mrs. L, a postpartum mother who has not yet decided on a family planning method, through education using leaflets about LAM contraception at PMB Murtinawita. This education aims to increase knowledge and help mothers choose the right contraception without disrupting the breastfeeding process. Visual media-based educational methods such as leaflets have proven effective in improving mothers' understanding of health information. The results of continuous midwifery care for Mrs. L (29 years old, P2A0H2) showed that the entire care process went well without complications. Before the education using leaflets by the midwife, the pretest results obtained a score of 5 correct and the posttest results obtained a score of 10 correct.
