Abstract
Health promotion plays a vital role in shaping healthy behaviors within the community. One proven effective medium for delivering information, both to a mass audience and individuals, is educational videos. Videos can be used to improve knowledge and attitudes, especially in helping mothers select the appropriate postpartum contraception method. This paper aims to evaluate the effectiveness of educational videos as an intervention to enhance the understanding and decision-making of postpartum mothers regarding contraceptive choices. This case study is a scientific work based on Evidence- Based Practice Midwifery (EBP), applying continuous midwifery care. The intervention was provided to a mother (Ny. V, 39 years old) at RSUD Mandau, Bengkalis Regency, from April to June 2025. The care covered services from the third trimester of pregnancy to family planning. The main intervention involved providing an educational video about postpartum contraception methods. The intervention's success was measured using a questionnaire. The data was analyzed descriptively to illustrate the changes that occurred. The results showed that the continuous midwifery care for Ny. V proceeded smoothly without complications. Before receiving the educational video, Ny. V's knowledge level about postpartum contraception methods was in the moderate category, with a score of 70. After the intervention, her knowledge score increased significantly to 85, placing her in the good category. This improvement demonstrates that educational videos are effective in enhancing a person's understanding of various postpartum contraceptive options. Therefore, educational videos can serve as an excellent tool for health professionals. It is recommended that healthcare providers continue to offer comprehensive counseling to prospective acceptors as the primary support for making informed and personal decisions about choosing postpartum contraceptive devices
