Abstract
Two group pre test - post test with control group design.
Childbirth is the final stage of the pregnancy process, many women who are about to give birth feel anxious and restless waiting for the birth. Based on the results of the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2021, caesarean sections continue to increase globally, and now account for more than 1 in 5 (21%) of all births. almost a third (29%) of all births are likely to be carried out by caesarean section in 2030. Post-SC patients will complain of pain in the incision area caused by tearing of tissue in the abdominal wall and uterine wall. Music therapy is a therapy with non- pharmacological interventions that are believed to restore, maintain and improve emotional, physiological and psychological well-being. The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of classical music therapy in reducing the pain scale in post-SC patients in the Bonsai inpatient room at Awal Bros Ujung Batu Hospital. This research method is a quasi-experimental research using a Two group pre test - post test with control group design. The sample in this study was 60 samples which were divided into two groups, namely the intervention group and the control group, each group consisting of 30 respondents. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire and obtained pre-test and post-test results. Then the data was analyzed using the normality test and hypothesis testing using the Wilcoxon test. It was found that the highest pre-test pain scale in the classical music therapy intervention group was severe pain at 43.3% and in the control group at 46.7%. The post test pain scale in the classical music therapy intervention group with severe pain was 16.7% and the score for no pain was 23.3%. Meanwhile, for the control group, 33.3% had severe pain and 13.3% had no pain. Based on the results of the Wilcoxon statistical test, it was found that the p value was 0.000 (p < 0.05) indicating a significant difference in the relationship between pain scales before and after classical music therapy intervention was given to post-SC patients. It can be concluded that classical music therapy is effective in reducing pain scale in post SC patients. It is hoped that further research will carry out research related to music therapy in reducing
