EFEKTIVITAS PEMBERIAN KOMPRES HANGAT TERHADAP PRODUKSI ASI PADA IBU NIFAS DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS PAYUNG SEKAKI KOTA PEKANBARU

Produksi ASI yang tidak optimal pada periode nifas dapat berpengaruh terhadap keberhasilan pemberian ASI eksklusif. Salah satu tindakan nonfarmakologis yang dapat dimanfaatkan untuk menunjang proses laktasi adalah kompres hangat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas kompres hangat dalam meningkatkan produksi ASI pada ibu nifas di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Payung Sekaki Kota Pekanbaru. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan rancangan pre-eksperimental one group pretest-posttest. Sampel penelitian terdiri atas 30 ibu nifas yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Produksi ASI dinilai pada dua tahap, yaitu sebelum dan setelah pemberian intervensi, dengan instrumen berupa lembar observasi dan kuesioner. Analisis data dilakukan secara univariat dan bivariat, sedangkan pengujian perbedaan menggunakan Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan adanya peningkatan rata-rata skor produksi ASI dari 5,80 sebelum intervensi menjadi 11,97 setelah diberikan kompres hangat. Pengujian statistik menghasilkan nilai Z sebesar -4,805 dan p-value sebesar 0,000 (p < 0,05), yang menunjukkan adanya perbedaan produksi ASI yang signifikan antara sebelum dan sesudah intervensi. Dengan demikian, pemberian kompres hangat terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan produksi ASI pada ibu nifas di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Payung Sekaki Kota Pekanbaru. Kompres hangat dapat dipertimbangkan sebagai salah satu pilihan intervensi nonfarmakologis yang praktis, relatif aman, dan mudah diterapkan untuk menunjang kelancaran proses menyusui serta mendukung keberhasilan ASI eksklusif.

Suboptimal breast milk production during the postpartum period may affect the success of exclusive breastfeeding. One non-pharmacological intervention that can be utilized to support the lactation process is the application of warm compresses. This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of warm compresses in increasing breast milk production among postpartum mothers in the Working Area of Payung Sekaki Public Health Center, Pekanbaru City. This study employed a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. The study sample consisted of 30 postpartum mothers selected using purposive sampling. Breast milk production was assessed at two stages, namely before and after the intervention, using observation sheets and questionnaires as research instruments. Data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate analyses, while the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test was applied to examine the difference between the two measurements. The findings demonstrated an increase in the mean breast milk production score from 5.80 before the intervention to 11.97 after the application of warm compresses. Statistical analysis resulted in a Z value of -4.805 and a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a statistically significant difference in breast milk production before and after the intervention. Therefore, the application of warm compresses was proven to be effective in increasing breast milk production among postpartum mothers in the Working Area of Payung Sekaki Public Health Center, Pekanbaru City. Warm compresses may be considered a practical, relatively safe, and easy-to-implement non-pharmacological intervention to support breastfeeding and promote the success of exclusive breastfeeding
